Can hotel charge more than the MPP on water bottle?

Yes, in India, restaurants and hotels are legally allowed to charge more than the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) for bottled water and other packaged goods. The Supreme Court has ruled that these establishments are providing a service, not just selling a product, and therefore, the rules of the Legal Metrology Act do not apply. This includes factors like ambiance, convenience, and the service provided by the restaurant.
